تتصادم سيارتين لرجلين، أولهما المحامي الناجح جيفن بانيك، والثاني هو الموظف البائس دويل جيبسون، الذي يعرض عليه جيفن تعويض سريع حتى لا تتعطل مصالحه، لكن دويل يرفض وتحدث بينهما مشادة تؤدي إلى فقدان جيفن بعض الأوراق الهامة، وهو الأمر الذي يستخدمه دويل لصالحه بعد عثوره على تلك الأوراق.
A rush-hour fender-bender on New York City's crowded FDR Drive, under most circumstances, wouldn't set off a chain reaction that could decimate two people's lives.
